Freddie Mac Reports Falling Mortgage Refinance Rates
According to the Money daily rate survey, the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate loan is 6.268%. For a 30-year fixed-rate refinance loan, the average rate is slightly higher at 6.4%. Freddie Mac reports that the current rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage has dropped to its lowest point since February 2023, averaging 6.20% for the week ending September 12.
